The Challenge

Statistics say that most businesses will never get to see their second anniversary, much less their fifth. When a business achieves five years, it’s a cause for celebration! Law Firm Hill Duvernay & Associates wanted to have a celebration that was anything but stuffy.

Candace Hill Duvernay, Managing Partner, lover of New Orleans and Creole flavors came to The Soa Brand wanting to host her company’s first ever event and didn’t want any of the details to be spared.

What We Did

Experience Production / Design Fabrication / Vendor Procurement & Management

The Invite

We began the planning process by enlisting the help of our print and design partners Moze Print & Design to create an epic and beautiful digital invitation that could be sent to the client’s tech savvy guests, friends, and family. Using splashthat as the distribution channel, over 125 guests were invited to a fête fit for Mardi Gras.

The Design

The Soa Brand team designed custom elements that included 3″ silver foil letters spelling out F-I-V-E to commemorate the firm’s 5 years in business as well as enlarged mounted photos from behind the scenes of the firm.

Custom feather mask centerpieces flanked the event space and provided a great divider between the lounge space and the event space. Masquerade party feather masks were scattered through-out the space for guests to mask their wild side.

The Music, Shrimp & Grits

Guests enjoyed several icebreakers and conversation starters including our specially designed photobooth that encouraged guests to unmask their fun side and share on their social media pages. DJ Radikal kept the part going with sounds inspired by Nawlins and a playlist ranging from old school to the top forties. The client LOVES to dance and she lead the party train until it was time to end.

Food served by Duvernay Catering was a welcome treat and included Mardi Gras chicken wings, Shrimp and grits, Mini shrimp po’ boys, and crawfish deviled eggs. Dessert was crafted by a local friend, Moni’s Sweets, and allowed guests to take the fun home by decorating their very own cookie masks.

Special thank you to all the characters in this event story!
