Party Favors: Super Bowl Edition
It’s that time of the year again. Grilling, friends and FOOTBALL! Every year I think of ways to switch it up a bit for Super Bowl Sunday. After all, there should be more excitement other than the game. The usual is grilling out or ordering pizza, drinks, laughs and the typical rivalry about who is going to win. Now, I’m not a die-hard football fan but I do love the party and tension.
One of my favorite appetizers that everyone seems to love is crescent pepperoni roll-ups. It’s easy and super quick. All you need is garlic powder, marinara sauce, mozzarella string cheese (cut in half), pepperoni, and crescent rolls. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. To prepare the rolls, you’ll need to unravel the crescents. Then, you roll up a cheese stick and pepperoni in the crescent. Before you place the rolls in the oven, top them off with some garlic powder. Bake them for about 12-15 minutes until their golden. Warm up the marinara sauce, and you’re done! Sort of like homemade pizza bites.
To make things more exciting, you can set up a photo booth. Since you’ll probably be spending a lot of money on food and drinks, I’m sure a photo booth is at the bottom of your list of things to get. However, if you do want to make things a bit more festive you can set one up any place you have a bare wall. All you need is football wrapping paper, and if you want to go the extra mile you can have print outs as props. You don’t even need a camera, that’s what we have cell phones for.
A Super Bowl party shouldn’t take too much, but just enough to set the vibe and keep the party going. You can even get creative with a “concession stand” for your finger foods and snacks. Not that anyone will pay too much attention to anything other than the game, it’s the atmosphere that sets the tone.
