Autumn Prep: How to Prep Your Home and Office for the Fall

“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” Benjamin Franklin

Fall means warm and cozy and its all about being comfortable and safe as the weather begins to dip. Here are some fall prep tips for your home and office to keep you prepared for whatever might come your way!

Clean out your gutters

During the last days of summer and during early fall is the best time to clean your gutters. Clear away leaves and debris from gutters and downspouts. Doing this prevents clogging of your gutters and drainpipes.

Inspect your roof

Now is the time to get on top of all roof problems. Inspect your roof for damaged shingles and leaky vents.

Check all vents and heating systems

Do a survey of your home’s heating vents to make sure they’re not blocked or covered by anything: furniture, carpeting, or curtains.Clean all filters and dust your vents as well. Surveying your homes’ vents and heating systems ensures for better heat distribution through out your home and the preventing of fires.

Get a space heater

For the fall and winter month my  number one heat source go-to is my compact space heater. In the colder months you absolutely need one to get through the days!

Make your office cozy

We all know its even harder to get to work during the colder months, so make your office as cozy as possible. If you’re into to coffee, have a coffee maker on hand in your office and water warmers for tea drinkers. Always have a throw and cozy scents in your office. Great fall scents of pumpkin, spice, and cinnamon will spark up any office up!
