5 Fall Fashion Trends of 2014

“Style is the best way to you say who you are without having to speak” – Rachel Zoe

Denim on Denim

Matching denim on denim is all about the wash of the jean. The best way to wear this fall trend is to match darker denim with lighter denim that way they both compliment each other. This style can be dressed up or dressed down. When dressing this style up feel free to wear a pretty lipstick color with a pointy toe heel to make the outfit really pop. Dark lips are perfect for the fall and winter seasons.

Hats are the best way to add some flavor to your outfit. Fedoras are the accessories that can be worn year round and is one of the most outfit friendliest. Fedoras are great for bad hair days and can transform an outfit from basic to stylish and chic. Although fedoras can be worn year round it’s essential to know which hats are appropriate for which seasons. For the fall and winter seasons the darker the hat the better. Dark and warm colors such as burnt orange, dark yellow, and magenta, and black are perfect colors for your fedora to complete your outfit. When it comes to patterns, simplicity is best. A fedora is an accessory and not meant to overpower your outfit.

Bohemian (Boho) Chic

The hippy movement is back in action! Free spirits thrive off of the Bohemian fashion trends. Boho fashion consists of maxi skirts/dresses, fringe, huge sweaters/cardigans, oversized accessories, and much more. To maintain a balanced and stylish Bohemian look always make sure to pair fitted and oversized clothing. One of the key factors in achieving this look is color scheme. Focus on rich, warm, and earthy colors such as cream, olive green, brown, and black. African and tribal prints along with chunky and oversized accessories are great ways to give your outfit plenty of texture and really show off your personality.
