5 Last Minute 4th of July Experiences PLUS #SCOREBIGWITHSOA

Ahhh the Fourth of July. The day in which the United States celebrate their independence from the tyranny of England. Or as we like to call it in the modern era, the day we are off of work and get to commune around the grill and enjoy the fireworks.

The Staycaytion– It’s rent week and funds are tight, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t enjoy yourself this holiday weekend. There are some amazing deals for hotels in your local metropolitan area. Spend the night in one of the local 3-5 star hotels, eat at the restaurant and get a drink at the bar. Don’t forget to take a dip in their pool and enjoy the sounds at their lounge. Just because you aren’t in some far off place, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a little mental relaxation near by.

The Mini-Vacay– What are your neighboring states (or country)? Take a road trip and enjoy some locally grown fair at the markets and farms along the way. Visit the tourist center and immerse yourself in the local culture. Going to Charlotte from Atlanta? Check out the farms along the way and don’t forget to eat like the locals! Every vacation doesn’t have to take a year of planning. All you’ll need is an open mind and a little spending cash! Seeing fireworks is fun…seeing fireworks in another city is exceptional!

Sports Fanatic– After each game, the Atlanta Braves hosts a fireworks show. I’m pretty sure this fourth of July, they will have one of the most over the top fireworks shows to date. Grab some friends, get a beer, and chomp on some hot dogs and enjoy the holiday under the stars of Turner Field!

Your Own Tour– As long as I’ve lived in Georgia, I STILL haven’t visited the World of Coke. I know. I know. You can judge me. How often is this true? You live in a city majority of your life, you know the streets forwards and backwards and can get anywhere you need to without having to take a major highway. Unfortunately, when tourists ask you about the local attractions, you are stumped because you’ve never been! This holiday weekend, go on a tour of your city’s hottest tourist spots. Do a walking tour and stop in to some of the local eateries while you’re at it! Nothing spells independence like getting to know home!

Attraction Reaction– When was the last time you rode a roller coaster? Or took some laps around a go-cart ring? Looking for a way to cool off? Instead of baking in the sun around the grill, take a trip to some local attractions! Within a 20 mile radius, Atlanta is surrounded by Centennial Olympic Park, LEGOLand, Six Flags, White Water, the Georgia Aquarium, Zoo Atlanta, Stone Mountain Park and World of Coke. Take the kids and enjoy some time at some amazing attractions!
